The renowned sustainability index produced by CDP, previously known as the Carbon Disclosure Project, positioned the company as a leader in sustainable water management, having included it in its A List 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Monday, February 03, international non-profit organization CDP released the list of 72 companies globally that were included in the water security A List 2019.<\/p>\n

Vi\u00f1a Concha y Toro \u2013 Family of Wineries, together with other companies from around the world, stood out in this leading sustainability index, which enables companies to report their impacts and progress in three areas: climate change, water security and forests.<\/p>\n

In this version of the index, Vi\u00f1a Concha y Toro was included in the A List for the “water security” category<\/strong> after reporting specific progress and sustainable economy initiatives in relation to good water resource management.<\/p>\n

“Currently, we have implemented drip irrigation in 100% of our vineyards which, together with the efforts carried out as part of our Sustainability Strategy, has enabled us to reduce our water footprint by 8% in the last four years<\/strong>, positioning the company 56% below the global industry average,” said Sustainable Development Manger Valentina Lira.<\/p>\n

CDP’s annual program and scoring process is widely recognized globally for its high standards of transparency in corporate environmental policy.<\/p>\n

“The scale of the business risks from the climate emergency, deforestation and water insecurity are vast\u2014as are the opportunities from addressing them\u2014and it’s clear the private sector has a vital role to play at this critical time,” said Paul Simpson, CEO of CDP.<\/p>\n
