As part of the International Day of Nature celebrated in March, the company shares some of its initiatives aimed to protecting and conserving the environment.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

For almost 20 years, Vi\u00f1a Concha y Toro has implemented various measures to protect and conserve the natural environment in Chile, in order to be agents of positive impact on the planet.<\/p>\n

In the framework of the International Day of Nature, which is celebrated on March 3, we invite you to learn about three initiatives that are carried out every year to meet this goal.<\/p>\n

Native Forest Conservation Program<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vi\u00f1a Concha y Toro has 4,272 hectares of native conservation forest in Chile, which is composed of valuable species for the biodiversity of flora in the central zone.<\/p>\n

These forests are present in nine estates in the VI and VII regions. They have a high conservation value, since they are the most threatened forests on the planet due to the high degree of human intervention in the central zone of the country. Currently, these forests are certified under the FSC\u00ae Sustainable Forest Management standard for the conservation of ecosystem services provided by these forests.<\/p>\n

Biodiversity and DNA<\/strong><\/p>\n

Through the eBioAtlas initiative, we are conducting biodiversity inventories of fauna, where species are identified through water samples, which contain their DNA chains as traces of their existence. These samples are analyzed and the results are incorporated into a large biodiversity database, generated by IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature).<\/p>\n

In this way, we are part of a large global network, which seeks to better identify the places of refuge of wildlife and their migratory behaviors due to climate change.<\/p>\n

Hands to the Earth Forestation Program<\/strong><\/p>\n

Through the collaboration of all those who work in the company, during 2022 more than 12 thousand trees were planted and are now growing in our estates. Each year, several internal teams participate in this program, in order to get to know the native forest more closely and learn about basic care for its protection.<\/p>\n

Under this program, Vi\u00f1a Concha y Toro plants one native tree per year for each of its employees, thus generating a long-term impact that materializes in the nature,<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
