Germ\u00e1n Di C\u00e9sare and Gerardo L\u00f3pez make a complete analysis of the weather conditions and the consequences on winemaking in their Vintage 2024 Report.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Bodega Trivento completed a harvest in which precision was the key to success. Yields were in line with the winery’s summer agronomic estimates and accompanied the commercial projections.<\/p>\n

Over almost 90 days, 34,221,488 kilos of grapes were crushed, 70% of which were Malbec, at the Maip\u00fa, Drummond and Tres Porte\u00f1as wineries. Of the total amount harvested, 92% corresponds to premium and superior grapes and more than 50% is the Company’s own grapes.<\/p>\n

“In Luj\u00e1n de Cuyo, Malbec grapes stood out, especially those destined for Golden Reserve and Eolo. It was necessary to monitor the ripeness of the area daily to achieve the desired aromatic profile and tannin structure,” said Germ\u00e1n Di C\u00e9sare, Chief Winemaker of Bodega Trivento.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With temperatures and rainfall records of a dry and hot year, however, we found expressions in the wines that are more consistent with a dry and cold year. The white grapes showed great typicity and character and lower alcohol potential, while the reds showed good colour, fresh red fruit, and diversity of expression.<\/p>\n

As in previous years, weather conditions were challenging. An early reading, with the support of the network of weather stations, rigorous monitoring of ripeness evolution and coordination between the winemaking and agricultural teams were key in this vintage.<\/p>\n

“The high temperatures recorded and the low water reserves highlight the importance of taking care of water resources in Mendoza. Hence the relevance of the network of weather stations and the soil studies carried out in the agricultural laboratory, as they allow us to adjust the irrigation cycles for each vineyard more precisely,” said Gerardo L\u00f3pez, Head of Agriculture.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
