{"id":47279,"date":"2026-05-27T15:11:36","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T19:11:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vinacyt.com\/?p=47279"},"modified":"2026-05-27T15:11:36","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T19:11:36","slug":"center-for-research-and-innovation-welcomes-vitiscience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vinacyt.com\/en\/noticia\/innovation\/center-for-research-and-innovation-welcomes-vitiscience\/","title":{"rendered":"Center for Research and Innovation welcomes VitiScience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"177\"><em>The meeting marked the beginning of collaborative work among the institutions participating in the project and reinforced the connection between academia and the private sector.<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"179\" data-end=\"578\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">VitiScience<\/span><\/span>, an applied research center led by the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile<\/span><\/span>, gathered its researchers at the Center for Research and Innovation (CRI) of <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Vi\u00f1a Concha y Toro<\/span><\/span> to strengthen ties between academia and the productive sector, with the goal of developing applied solutions for small, medium, and large table grape and wine producers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"580\" data-end=\"870\">The project, funded by the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Agencia Nacional de Investigaci\u00f3n y Desarrollo<\/span><\/span> (ANID), seeks to generate knowledge and technologies with real impact on the table grape and wine sectors through a partnership between the public and private sectors, in which Vi\u00f1a Concha y Toro participates through the CRI.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"872\" data-end=\"1315\">\u201cThe VitiScience meeting is especially relevant as it brings together the largest group of academic and industry researchers collaborating to address the challenges facing the wine industry and strengthen it. On this occasion, the CRI hosted the meeting, providing an opportunity to connect different scientific disciplines and technological capabilities under a shared vision,\u201d said <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">\u00c1lvaro Gonz\u00e1lez<\/span><\/span>, Director of the CRI.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1317\" data-end=\"1739\">The meeting, held on May 18 and 19, marked the beginning of collaborative work among researchers from the Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Universidad de Talca<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Universidad de La Frontera<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Instituto de Investigaciones Agropecuarias<\/span><\/span>, and <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Centro de Estudios Avanzados en Fruticultura<\/span><\/span>, as well as Vi\u00f1a Concha y Toro, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Corteva Agriscience<\/span><\/span>, and <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Acadian Plant Health<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1741\" data-end=\"2386\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">\u201cThe workshop represented a unique opportunity by bringing together more than 30 researchers and academics from the country\u2019s leading universities and research centers in the wine sector.
