Nature has become a strategic priority for the global business community. What was once considered an abundant and readily available resource is now recognized as a fundamental asset for competitiveness, resilience, and economic growth. In this context, Chilean companies have a unique opportunity to demonstrate leadership with both local and global impact.<\/p>\n

For many years, the contribution of ecosystems to economic development and human well-being remained largely invisible in management systems and decision-making processes. Today, we understand that water availability, soil fertility, biodiversity, and the many services provided by nature are essential assets for economic and social development. Acting accordingly will be critical to business competitiveness in the decades ahead.<\/p>\n

Over recent years, climate change has become a central priority for corporate management, alongside a growing recognition of businesses\u2019 dependence on natural systems to operate, produce, and create value. It is within this context that the concept of regeneration has gained prominence. It is no longer enough to simply reduce negative impacts; the challenge is to actively contribute to strengthening ecosystems.<\/p>\n

Sustainability will require not only conserving what remains, but also restoring what has been degraded. Companies have an indispensable role to play in this transition. Their capacity for innovation, investment, and value chain collaboration positions them as key actors in driving solutions at scale. This is particularly relevant for Chile, whose economy remains closely linked to natural resources and where sectors such as agriculture, mining, energy, aquaculture, fisheries, and forestry depend directly on the quality and availability of natural capital.<\/p>\n

Chile also possesses exceptional conditions to become an international benchmark in this field. Our geography and the diversity of our ecosystems make the country a natural laboratory for developing and validating new approaches to sustainable management.<\/p>\n

Today, Chilean business leaders have a unique opportunity before them. Few countries combine an economy deeply connected to natural resources, a growing track record in corporate sustainability, and such an extraordinary diversity of ecosystems. If we embrace this challenge, we will not only strengthen our companies and our economy, but also help advance a model of development that is more resilient, prosperous, and aligned with planetary boundaries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
