The report, which details the company’s progress on its sustainability strategy, was named the best in Latin America and among the top three globally for the food and drinks sector in the prestigious Hallbars Sustainability Reports Awards. The ceremony was chaired by the President of the Alfred Nobel Björkborn Foundation in Sweden. 

Last week, the final results of the latest Hallbars Sustainability Reports Awards were released, with Viña Concha y Toro’s Sustainability Report 2018 being named among the three best in the world for the food and drinks sector, after Bosch (Germany) and LVMH (France). It was also named the best sustainability report in Latin America for all categories.

After the Hallbars Sustainability Reports Awards selected Viña Concha y Toro’s sustainability report as the “Best in all categories” for the food and drinks sector on a national level, the company had the opportunity to represent Chile in the final stage of the competition and participate in the “Best in the World” category.

This is a major recognition, as 702 companies from 78 countries took part in this renowned competition. “Sustainability is a key pillar of Viña Concha y Toro’s strategy, and it plays a fundamental role in our growth model. This award for our annual sustainability report is an acknowledgment of our commitment and transparency in the communication of our sustainability initiatives”, said Eduardo Guilisasti, Viña Concha y Toro’s CEO. 

International recognition

Hallbars Research Institute is an international organization headquartered in Sweden which is focused on the promotion of sustainability reports. The Hallbars Awards evaluate sustainability reports as an editorial publication based on their content, production and design, as well as valuing the dissemination of sustainability initiatives throughout society. The jury of the Hallbars Sustainability Reports Awards is made up of five members, four of which form part of the staff of the Hallbars Institute from Sweden, France, Spain and China. The fifth judge is the head of the Scientific Committee.

The awards ceremony was held remotely due to the pandemic, with just a few guests present, and was chaired by Maria Larsson, President of the Alfred Nobel Björkborn Foundation.
