Viña Concha y Toro strengthens innovation with a 14% increase in investment in its Center for Research and Innovation

During 2025, the company allocated CLP 3,158 million to strengthen scientific and technological development, consolidating innovation as a strategic pillar.

With more than 11 years of trajectory, Viña Concha y Toro’s Center for Research and Innovation (CRI) has consolidated its role as a key pillar for driving science-based innovation in the wine industry. During 2025, the company reinforced its commitment to science through a 14.4% year-on-year increase in private investment in R&D.

In this context, Viña Concha y Toro allocated a total of CLP 3,158 million to the CRI during 2025, representing 86% of its funding. This investment enabled the enhancement of infrastructure, strengthening of research teams, and progress in initiatives focused on generating applied knowledge for the business. Compared to 2024, investment increased by 14%, reinforcing Viña Concha y Toro’s sustained commitment to R&D&I development and its strategic role in addressing industry challenges.

“At Viña Concha y Toro’s CRI, we have built unique capabilities to carry out research and development processes in scientific areas applied to the wine industry. This opens a wide range of opportunities to generate highly disruptive innovations, adding greater value to the production process and contributing to the sustainability of the business,” said Álvaro González, Director of the CRI.

The CRI’s research is conducted in strategic areas such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, sustainability, microbiology, plant health, physiology, and digital technologies applied to viticulture, among others. These lines of work are developed in coordination with different areas of the company, focusing on optimizing production processes and addressing long-term industry challenges, in collaboration with universities and research centers.

This work is driven by a team of more than 40 researchers and professionals, including 13 PhDs, who in 2025 published eight scientific papers and advanced the generation of applied knowledge for the company.

Additionally, the CRI continued strengthening scientific knowledge generation through the development of 12 postgraduate theses and the presentation of more than 30 papers at national and international conferences, consolidating its contribution to the company’s technological development and innovation.
