The iconic Maipo Valley Cabernet Sauvignon of the chilean subsidiary of Viña Concha y Toro, Viña Don Melchor, has released its new vintage, which stands out for two key attributes: its expressive force and great finesse. 

The new 2019 vintage of this iconic Cabernet Sauvignon from the Maipo Valley, was presented by the Vice President of Fine Wines and Corporate Image, Isabel Guilisasti, and the Viña Don Melchor CEO and Winemaker, Enrique Tirado.

Enrique Tirado describes this new vintage as “a wine that is a clear expression of each of the seven parcels that make up the Don Melchor vineyard, which deliver unique attributes resulting in a complex wine with expressive force and great finesse”. 

“The diversity provided by the stony alluvial soil at the Don Melchor vineyard—located in the prestigious Puente Alto terroir, one of Viña Concha y Toro’s world-class terroirs—has the necessary characteristics to produce the Cabernet Sauvignon variety. Temperatures in the year were a little lower than in previous ones, which adds a fresher component to the 2019 vintage”, added Enrique Tirado.

“The 2019 vintage of our iconic wine reflects the excellence behind the production of Don Melchor, which transmits an incredible aromatic expression in this new vintage, making it a unique wine”, noted Isabel Guilisasti.
