Almaviva celebrates 25 years of history

We invite you to experience part of the celebration of the joint venture between Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Viña Concha y Toro.

Almaviva, Viña Concha y Toro’s joint venture with Baron Philippe de Rothschild, celebrated its 25th anniversary with the launch of a new vintage during a ceremony attended by our directors Alfonso Larraín and Rafael Guilisasti, and our CEO, Eduardo Guilisasti.

The Almaviva story began in 1997, when Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A., and Eduardo Guilisasti Tagle, President of Viña Concha y Toro S.A., signed an agreement with the vision of creating an exceptional premium Franco-Chilean wine. This 25-year alliance demonstrates the company’s commitment to its goal of providing high quality products nationally and internationally, with a focus on the tastes and palates of the most demanding customers.

During the signing ceremony that gave way to the creation of Almaviva, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild commented: “The terroir, the sun, the work of man. The combination of all these factors makes us firmly believe in the success of the appointment we have made with you today to establish a strong and evident link between our two cultures: Chilean and French, and to express the sense of elegance and taste for tradition, which are the pride of our two companies”.

Eduardo Guilisasti Tagle commented on the occasion: “Concha y Toro is celebrating today, and we want to thank you very sincerely for being with us tonight. We wanted to make you part of this milestone that marks our history and all Chilean viticulture. We are celebrating the confirmation and the beginning of an alliance between Concha y Toro and Baron Philippe de Rothschild, the most famous wine producer in the world. At Concha y Toro we feel very honored, we bring the best we have, our land and our people to make together the best and what we all like the most, great wines”.

Produced under the technical supervision of both partners, the launch of its first vintage in 1998 was immediately an international success.
