Viña Concha y Toro is once again included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index
For the eighth consecutive year, the company was included in this important international sustainability index thanks to the systematic actions carried out at Viña Concha y Toro.
In the 2022 version of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, Viña Concha y Toro once again obtained good results by being included in this important sustainability ranking prepared by the New York Stock Exchange and S&P Dow Jones Indices.
The company’s inclusion demonstrates its regional leadership in sustainability. “It is very gratifying to see that the efforts that the company has made over the years are now visible in indexes as relevant as Dow Jones for the eighth consecutive year. All the issues that we are advancing in sustainability seek to generate a more sustainable work space for the future, so it is a source of pride to see how they are recognized in such relevant instances as this,” said Valentina Lira, Sustainability Director.
The company also obtained above-average scores in the three dimensions evaluated: economic, environmental and social, confirming Viña Concha y Toro’s solid position in sustainability. Its best performance was in the environmental dimension, with 73 points, an evaluation that places Viña Concha y Toro 41 points above the industry average.
This year’s highlights include regenerative practices for soil, flora and fauna, which incorporates the protection and reproduction of native forests, as well as participation in eBioAtlas to inventory biodiversity. Since 2020, the company has been working on a project called Agricultural Ecosystem Management (GEA), which seeks to generate a new model of agriculture, incorporating measures to protect and conserve biodiversity of flora and fauna, forests and soils.
Since 2015, Viña Concha y Toro has been part of the first local sustainability index, Dow Jones Sustainability Index Chile. This is a global sustainability indicator in which only the companies with the best performance in their sector are invited.
