Amelia is named Chile’s Best Chardonnay by Decanter

This Chardonnay, which forms part of Concha y Toro’s Cellar Collection, was awarded 96 points in the latest edition of the British wine magazine’s Buying Guide.

Amelia Chardonnay 2019 of Concha y Toro was awarded an extraordinary 96 points in  the latest edition of British publication Decanter’s Buying Guide, the highest score of all Chilean wines included in the report, once again demonstrating its outstanding consistency and quality.

In this edition written by renowned wine journalist and critic Amanda Barnes, who is also the author of the South America Wine Guide, a total of 73 wines from Chile and Argentina were tasted, of which only five, including Amelia Chardonnay, were ranked as “Outstanding”.

This award-winning wine from the Limarí Valley, which forms part of Concha y Toro’s Cellar Collection, was described in the report as follows: “Elegant perfume of lavender, wet stones and jasmine haunt the nose of this expressive and vibrant wine. With the chalky minerality and tangy finish that are trademarks of Limarí, this shows great regional typicity and is a mouthwatering wine with subtle oak integration. A complex yet elegant style”.
