Our California subsidiary’s brand, Fetzer, won three medals at the latest edition of the prestigious San Francisco wine competition.

Fetzer – the flagship brand of Fetzer Vineyards, our California subsidiary – took home three awards at the prestigious 2022 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. Fetzer Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Chardonnay received impressive medals in the 22nd annual edition of the lauded wine competition, where 50 judges representing winemaking, wine education, trade, hospitality, culinary, media, and other wine/food sectors tasted 5,800 wines from over 1,000 North American wineries.

Fetzer won “Best of Class” for the 2020 Gewürztraminer and Gold medals for the non-vintage California Riesling and 2020 California Chardonnay. In total, the brand has received 11 awards of Gold, Double Gold, or Best of Class at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition over the past five years.

Fetzer wines are crafted by winemaker Margaret Leonardi, the first woman to lead winemaking for the Fetzer brand. Part of the Fetzer Vineyards winemaking family since 2015, Margaret has obtained more than 20 Best Buy commendations from top wine critics for the Fetzer wines in recent years.
