Trivento joins the Controlled Denomination of Origin of Luján de Cuyo

In order to support and promote Malbec, Trivento joins this denomination, the first initiative of its kind in South America, which has been in force since 1989.

Malbec is the signature variety of Argentina and has become a symbol of the country. Its consumption in Argentina and abroad is growing and millions of people choose it every day to toast.

For this reason, and to take Malbec to its highest potential and patrimonial value, in 1989 the Controlled Denomination of Origin Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza was born. This initiative transformed the course of Malbec, giving this variety a well- known profile in the world.

Ever since Trivento took up this business in 1996, it has been producing Malbec, so much so that today they make the best-selling Malbec in the United Kingdom and the third one in the United States. Trivento Reserve Malbec is an ambassador of Argentine culture and its flavors. Trivento’s portfolio of wines also incorporates innovative products such as the White Malbec and the organic wine.

In 2021, Trivento purchased a winery located in Mayor Drummond in the heart of Luján de Cuyo, which meets one of the strictest requirements to join the D.O. The property is an estate with a California style detached house and a 3 ha. park. The old vineyard of 20 ha. in Vistalba was also included in this D.O.

“Today we celebrate joining the D.O. Luján de Cuyo to work proactively in the preservation, promotion and communication strategies of this terroir. By the addition of the new winery in Luján de Cuyo and the old vineyard in Vistalba, we will work hand in hand to promote the quality and identity of Luján de Cuyo”, says Cristián Linares, Winery Operation Manager at Trivento.
