Trivento Reserve Malbec 2021 is named Best Value Red Wine of the Year by Tim Atkin

The British critic highlighted the winery’s iconic Malbec, and the work of winemaker Germán Di Cesare and his team, during the launch of his annual report on Argentinean wines broadcast live on Instagram.

Trivento Malbec Reserve 2021 was named by Tim Atkin as one of the best Argentinean wines in terms of its price-quality relationship. The renowned British critic presented the results of his 2022 Argentina Special Report, in which he provides an overview of the country’s wines and best vintages. He also named Trivento Malbec Reserve 2021 as Best Value Red Wine of the Year and awarded it 92 points. This represents a new achievement for the winery, which continues to receive major acknowledgments.

“Given the volumes involved, the quality and consistency of this wine are remarkable. In fact, this may be the best vintage yet. Very lightly wooded, it’s an equal blend of grapes from Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley, with violet and rose petal perfume, fine tannins, tangy black cherry and blueberry fruit and a vibrant finish”, said Tim Atkin, Master of Wine.

Trivento Reserve Malbec 2021 is a 100% Malbec wine produced in a dry continental climate with high sunlight exposure, enabling optimal ripening of the grapes. It has received a vegan certification from The Vegan Society, and part of the energy used for its production comes from solar panels.

After spending more than a month in Mendoza, San Juan, and Chubut, and tasting over 2,000 wines from 370 wineries, the Master of Wine wrote his 281-page report, in which he once again named Trivento wines among his favorites. He also noted the constant evolution in the quality of Argentinean wines, the great work carried out by the country’s winemakers, and the major presence of women in the industry. “They’re making the best wines that I’ve tasted”, said Atkin.
