Viña Concha y Toro presented Puente Alto DO in Colombia

Among the wines presented were Don Melchor 2020 and Marques de Casa Concha Heritage 2020, together with their recently launched 2021 vintages.

Viña Concha y Toro presented the Puente Alto Denomination of Origin (DO) in Bogotá, Colombia, to the press, trade and collectors of premium wines. This activity was carried out in collaboration with Global Wine and Spirit (GWS), with the additional participation of LATAF Export Management and the two main spokespersons for the Puente Alto DO: Marcelo Papa, Technical Director of Concha y Toro, and Enrique Tirado, CEO and Technical Director of Don Melchor.

Don Melchor 2020, Marques de Casa Concha Heritage 2020 and the 2021 vintage were presented as a preview of both exponents, but the big surprise for the attendees was the 1988 vintage of Don Melchor.

The event brought together for the first time the press, the key trade, and distributors from all over Latin America and the Caribbean, who attended various activities over a day and a half, the main event being the presentation of the Puente Alto appellation. The meeting was attended by people from Ecuador, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Panama, Uruguay and Peru, among others.

José Manuel Infante, Export Director of LATAF & Canada, commented that “As an area we are very happy with this first version of the “Puente Alto D.O.” event held in Colombia, as it allowed us to bring together more than 150 guests, including representatives of the main restaurants, specialized stores and private collectors in the country, as well as different national and international press media”.

“We are also very pleased to have achieved the objectives proposed for this activity, firstly to build loyalty and strengthen our current customer network by providing new and better sales tools, and secondly, to attract new buyers for our portfolio of luxury products, inviting them to be part of this exclusive group of customers,” concluded José Manuel.

Among the activities were tastings for wine collectors in VIP stores with the distributor GWS, a private lunch with eight top sommeliers from Bogota and 10 collectors from Colombia. Finally, a presentation & training on the Puente Alto DO was given to the entire GWS team.
