In order to share experiences of public-private relationship on the matrix of instruments available for investment in R & D & I projects, to know the work methodology developed by Viña Concha y Toro’s Center for Research and Innovation and to discuss the innovation ecosystem in Chile, the president of INTI, Javier Ibáñez, attended the offices of the CRI on May 20 and 21 and met with representatives of Corfo and Trivento, a subsidiary of Viña Concha y Toro.

Attendees were able to observe in the field the application of public subsidy instruments and the tax incentives of the R & D Act, in addition to knowing the new technologies (industry 4.0, analysis of satellite images, digital platforms, new products) with which the team works of the CRI.

Javier Ibáñez, president of Argentina’s National Institute of Industrial Technology, pointed out that Viña Concha y Toro’s Center for Research and Innovation is a clear example of a public-private partnership working on research and innovation. “The role and professionalism of the CRI team is a key to detect opportunities and new lines of work that add value to the wine chain. We believe that this visit is the beginning of an important link where INTI, as a technological agency, can work together with the CRI to provide innovative solutions to the wine sector on both sides of the Cordillera” he said.

Gerard Casaubon, director of the CRI, said: “For the CRI, the visit of the president of INTI represents an escalation in the region of its impact on the R & D & I ecosystem, particularly as a result of working together with Trivento, and at the same time this is an opportunity to share the lessons learned from the successful public-private partnership articulated by Corfo through its matrix of instruments available for investment in R & D & I projects, which we hope can replicate Argentina from successful experiences of Viña Concha y Toro and its subsidiary Trivento”.
