Center for Research and Innovation participates in wine and beer industry fair

Wine and beer lovers and industry players gathered at the Expo Wine & Beer, which was held between May 30 and June 1. More than 100 exhibitors discussed the challenges and opportunities in the industry. New fermentation process technologies, packaging and e-commerce trends, innovative sustainable production processes and responsible consumption initiatives were some of the main issues addressed at the event.

The “Future Winemaking: Wine Cellar 4.0” block was led by José Cuevas, head of R&D and innovation at Viña Concha y Toro’s Center for Research and Innovation, who highlighted the applications and benefits of smart industry, and explained how Viña Concha y Toro’s Center for Research and Innovation is driving the digital transformation of processes in the value chain in order to obtain greater efficiency, and maximize quality and productivity.

“We must be able to explore, adapt and implement new technological trends, particularly those associated with industry 4.0, to ensure the optimization of winemaking process, with a focus on productivity, quality and sustainability. The CRI collaborates with the Technical Department and its winemaking teams to explore new technologies, in order to subsequently validate and implement them together with our Technological Innovation Unit,” said Cuevas.
