Center for Research and Innovation obtains important recognition

Viña Concha y Toro’s Center for Research and Innovation (CRI) obtained ISO9001 quality management system certification from LSQA.

The Center for Research and Innovation obtained ISO9001 quality management system certification through an external audit by LSQA.

LSQA is a joint stock company formed by capital equally owned by LATU (50%) and Quality Austria (50%), which is financed by income from its certification and training services.

The scope of the certification includes the design and execution of applied research and technological development projects; technology transfer and innovation management; and the execution of associated services. All of the above was carried out with the aim of assessing compliance with the audit criteria and evaluating the capacity and effectiveness of the management system.

Regarding the audit, the Director of Viña Concha y Toro’s Center for Research and Innovation, Álvaro González, commented, “The CRI’s achievement of ISO 9001 quality management system certification represents a significant milestone in its action plan for excellence. The scope of this certification consolidates important processes at the company’s service: (1) design and execution of applied research and technological development projects; (2) technology transfer and innovation management; and (3) execution of associated services. The external audit, carried out by LSQA S.A., highlighted the fact that it did not show any findings of the “non-conformity” type”.

LSQA explained that “the Research and Innovation Center is a response to the changing scientific and technological environment and the new challenges faced by the industry at a global level. It is now a consolidated center for generating knowledge and new technologies, as well as a meeting and exchange point for winemakers and researchers. The CRI plays a vital role in Viña Concha y Toro’s business model, with direct implications for the quality of its products and the productivity of its processes.
