CRI will participate in the OIV research grant program 2022

The grants are awarded by the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) to promote research and development in its priority program fields.

Within the framework of developing its Strategic Plan, the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) grants research scholarships in its priority program fields on a yearly basis.

This year, the consortium of international companies (Familia Torres from Spain, Moët & Hennessy from France, Sogrape from Portugal, Viña Concha y Toro from Chile, and Yalumba Family Winemakers from Australia) is making a contribution which makes it possible to offer different types of research grants.

Viña Concha y Toro, through its Center for Research and Innovation (CRI), seeks to generate new opportunities for international collaboration with various academic and business partners working to generate new applied knowledge and technological development related to the topics prioritized by the OIV Business Consortium, which are detailed below:

  • Conservation and sustainable management of biodiversity and ecosystems in transitioning to a nature-positive grape and wine value chain.
  • Sustainable management and adaptation to climate change.
  • Living and healthy soils in viticulture.

Other important topics will also be covered, such as inventory, study, and conservation of genetic resources and genotypes of the ancient varieties and old wines; the study of new techniques to fight diseases; and sustainable water consumption in table grape production and water footprint in the wine sector.
