Viña Concha y Toro participates in the creation of the OIV’s business consortium

Viña Concha y Toro is one of five leading wine companies that form part of the new consortium created by the International Organisation of Vine and Wine, focused on research and development.

The International Organisation of Vine and Wine has created a new consortium made up of five leading wine companies, including Viña Concha y Toro, which have come together to promote and support the organization’s work on research and development.

This new work group is formed by Viña Concha y Toro, Moët Hennessy (France), Sogrape (Portugal), Familia Torres (Spain) and Yalumba Family Winemakers (Australia), all of which will be in continuous contact to share their experiences and knowledge on research and development.

“There are very few wine companies on a global level that have internal capabilities to carry out research and development. Forming part of the OIV’s new business consortium together with four other leading companies opens up new opportunities for collaboration, and is something that makes us very proud”, said Viña Concha y Toro Center for Research and Innovation Director, Álvaro González.

In this first stage, the consortium will propose topics for research scholarships led by the OIV, advise the organization during the selection process, receive scholarship holders in their facilities when required, and develop joint communication activities.
