The view from the wine industry was represented by Gerard Casaubon, Director of Viña Concha y Toro´s Center for Research and Innovation (CRI). One of the central points of his intervention was the need to promote a company policy that explores and exploits Artificial Intelligence, to have intra-R + D + i capacity to address strategic projects of digital transformation, to understand the IA ecosystem (suppliers – partners – academia) and to identify the core know-how of the productive areas to transform it into the differentiating intelligence component of the innovation processes.

The agronomist and winemaker from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile also spoke about the work that the CRI is doing in order to promote technological development, applied research and knowledge transfer in Chile.

“There is a factor that all industries have in common and it is the need to align their digital transformation process with the human capital of the different productive units of a company. The digital transformation strategy of the Center for Research and Innovation is based on adapting to changes and is developed thanks to the collaboration of our different productive areas (agriculture and oenology) with the research team and support of the IT Management” Casaubon said.
